Being a Part of God's Work in the World: Go

Learning and Praying, as mentioned in the previous posts on missions, are things that every believer can be actively involved in. But as we learn and as we pray, we need to realize that some must Go. Are we open to the possibility of going?

Paul states the need for people to Go in Romans this way:
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" - Romans 10:14-15

GO
Jesus says in Matthew that there is great need for people -- laborers -- to go and minister. There is a great need for people to go, and as they do, make disciples of all peoples they encounter.
Going could mean seeking to live overseas long term, but it can be more than that.

A few ways to Go:
  • Go for a short term trip to support and help long term missionaries.
  • Take a year or two off and Go for a “medium-term” trip.
  • Go when your kids are grown up or when you retire.
  • Go by taking your job and skills and working in another nation.
